IPD will contact patients within 24 hours of receiving a referral to review the details and arrange an appointment. After the sleep study is completed, a clinical sleep physiologist will score the data and a consultant sleep physician will provide the final report. Patient will then be directed to you to discuss the sleep study results and the next steps.
Patients typically access the sleep study within 5 working days.
Yes, you will be notified once the test is scheduled. The IPD team will also let you know if the patient chooses not to go ahead. For CPAP patients, our clinicians will generate a four-week compliance report and share it with the referring doctor. If the treatment is not effective, we can recommend alternative therapy options.
IPD can support the diagnosis of a full range of sleep disorders, including sleep apnoea, restless legs syndrome, narcolepsy, and REM behaviour disorder.
IPD clinicians can deliver the device directly to the patient’s home, or for more complex studies, attend in person to set up the equipment. Our team can remotely monitor the data throughout the night, and we return the following morning to collect the device.
Before each sleep study, the patient completes a sleep questionnaire to help us better understand their symptoms. To ensure accurate and reliable results, the data is analysed and then interpreted by a consultant sleep physician - a process IPD follows as standard for every sleep study.
Treatment plans can start as soon as the next working day after diagnosis, helping patients achieve better health outcomes sooner.
No, the process is designed to be straightforward and time-efficient for GPs. Please visit our referral portal to refer a patient.
